Vicious Fluorocarbon manufacturer product package

Vicious's current standard 100% Japanese Fluoro, identified by FLO-family SKUs. The official chart for these 6-20 lb rows differs from older generic/retailer charts, so this page uses the current manufacturer dimensions and package variants only.

Standard fluoro with its own current chart

Use this product when fluorocarbon will be your working mainline, with strength chosen for the rod and presentation. It is distinct from Pro Elite, Crystal Clear and Tora. Current 6 lb is .008 inch and 10 lb is .011 inch on the manufacturer chart; carrying an old standard-fluoro diameter into a current fill calculation could change the result substantially.

Choosing your setup

Choosing your Vicious 100% Fluoro strength

Choose among the verified 6-20 lb standard FLO sizes, not a strength from another Vicious fluorocarbon family. The 6-10 lb group has 100-yard options as well as longer packages.

A 200-yard spool is the default supply choice here, but larger 500- and 800-yard variants may be useful for multiple fills. Supplied length does not determine the strength you should fish.

At 15-20 lb, check handling on the exact reel as well as volume. A thick fluorocarbon fitting on a small spinning spool is not proof that it will fish comfortably.

This is a source-based specification and setup guide, not a hands-on review or comparative performance test.

Backing, working line & leaders

Confirm the FLO family

Use the standard 100% Japanese Fluoro package for these numbers. Pro Elite and other Vicious formulas need their own chart.

Choose the working fill

Compare the reel estimate with a verified 100-, 200-, 500- or 800-yard option at the selected test. Backing can occupy volume beneath a shorter working fluorocarbon section.

Keep a reserve above backing

Allow enough usable fluoro for casting, expected runs and retying, and keep the backing junction below that section. Stop at the reel maker's fill clearance.

Vicious 100% Fluoro questions, answered

Why is 6 lb .008 inch rather than .010?

The current official Vicious standard 100% Japanese Fluoro chart lists .008 inch. The older generic/retailer value is not accepted as current manufacturer evidence.

Is this Pro Elite?

No. Pro Elite has separate EFLO-family products and its own official chart. This page is standard FLO-family fluorocarbon.

Do all tests have 100-yard spools?

No. In this checked range, 6, 8 and 10 lb have current 100-yard variants. The higher checked tests start at 200 yards.

Specifications & sources

Checked September 13, 2026 against the official product information linked below. The official chart publishes inches. Millimeters are calculated as inches x 25.4, not treated as an independently measured second column. Offered specifications do not establish current stock; this is not an independent diameter measurement.

Calculations use the catalog's listed inch diameters. Published inch and millimeter values may differ slightly because of rounding.
