Sufix Elite
Diameter chart, reel capacity & backing guide

Elite is Sufix's all-around monofilament with Micro Resin Technology. This guide includes the verified 4-20 lb U.S. rows. The heavier 25 and 30 lb package lengths conflict within the official source and are withheld.

Is Elite right for your setup?
Elite is a candidate for a straightforward mono mainline or for backing beneath another working line. Its 330-yard filler options can cover a full fill on many smaller reels, but the amount depends on actual diameter. The 12 lb diameter is 0.014 inch in the current chart; do not substitute a generic 12 lb mono diameter when checking a reel.

Only the source-reviewed strengths and package combinations listed below are included. Converted measurements are identified in the source notes.
| Strength | Inches | mm | Spools (yd) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4 lb | 0.008 | 0.2032 | 330, 3000 |
| 6 lb | 0.010 | 0.254 | 330, 3000 |
| 8 lb | 0.011 | 0.2794 | 330, 3000 |
| 10 lb | 0.012 | 0.3048 | 330, 3000 |
| 12 lb | 0.014 | 0.3556 | 330, 3000 |
| 14 lb | 0.015 | 0.381 | 330, 3000 |
| 17 lb | 0.016 | 0.4064 | 330, 3000 |
| 20 lb | 0.018 | 0.4572 | 330, 3000 |
Choosing your Elite strength
Compare 4-8 lb to the line range on a lighter rod, then check the reel. Lighter line on a larger-capacity spool may require more than you expect to reach the recommended fill level.
The chart increases from 10 lb at 0.012 inch to 12 lb at 0.014 inch. Treat that as a substantial capacity change, not just a two-pound step.
The verified 17 and 20 lb rows are 0.016 and 0.018 inch. On a small spinning spool, physical fit does not establish comfortable handling.
Specification-based guidance, not a ReelCalc hands-on performance test. Capacity results are estimates, not measured fills.

Start with the 330-yard filler
Calculate a full mono fill using the selected Elite row. Stop at the reel's recommended fill level and retain the remainder; a whole filler package need not go onto one reel.
Use bulk lengths only where specified
Current variant records identify 3,000-yard options for the included strengths. References to other lengths in feature copy do not create additional verified packages.
Elite as backing
If Elite sits underneath braid or fluorocarbon, enter its exact diameter as the backing line and calculate with the actual working line. Do not confuse that arrangement with an Elite mainline fill.
Elite questions, answered
Why are 25 and 30 lb missing?
The official description says those strengths are 250 yards only, while current variant length fields say 330 yards. They are withheld until the package identity is resolved.
What is Micro Resin Technology?
It is Sufix's named technology for Elite. Sufix attributes tensile and knot-strength benefits to it; this guide does not independently test those claims.
Does every Elite package use the same winding method?
The official description and feature list disagree on which lengths receive G2 Precision Winding. This page does not extend that package-specific claim to the entire range.
How much Elite will fit my reel?
Use the exact strength and the reel's published capacity. Pound test is not a fixed diameter, so equal-strength products can produce different fill estimates.
Is one 330-yard package enough?
Only when it covers the planned working length and an appropriate reserve. Backing can fill unused volume, but cannot supply more working line for long casts, deep drops or fish runs.
Specifications & sources
Official sources retrieved September 13, 2026. Inch diameters are published; millimeters are calculated as inches x 25.4. Elite 25/30 lb: description says 250 yd only; child variants say 330 yd. Both excluded. G2 package scope also conflicts (330/1000 in description versus 100/330 in features); no universal G2 claim is made. Package options are not a stock or price guarantee.
Calculations use the catalog's listed inch diameters. Published inch and millimeter values may differ slightly because of rounding.
