Sufix 832 Advanced Superline

Diameter chart, reel capacity & backing guide

Sufix 832 Advanced Superline manufacturer product package

832 combines seven HMPE fibers with one GORE Performance Fiber. The name refers to eight fibers and 32 weaves per inch. This is the U.S. Advanced Superline mainline, not 832 Ice Braid or the lead-core trolling product.

Construction
Eight fibers: seven HMPE fibers and one GORE Performance Fiber; 32 weaves per inch
Listed strengths
6-130 lb
Line type
Braid main line

Is 832 Advanced Superline right for your setup?

Consider 832 when you want braid for the working line and a choice of short filler or large bulk packages. Its broad strength range does not make every size suitable for every reel: choose the rod and presentation first. A thin spinning setup may need substantial backing, while a heavier casting setup may consume most of a 150-yard package.

Choosing your setup

Choosing your 832 Advanced Superline strength

The 10 and 15 lb rows are 0.008 and 0.0085 inch respectively. Keep that fourth decimal when comparing capacity; displaying both as 0.008 would hide a real difference in the manufacturer chart.

The 30-65 lb sizes occupy progressively more spool volume. Evaluate the lure, cover, hook wire and rod rating before stepping up; a larger pound label alone is not a setup recommendation.

The 100 and 130 lb products have different package options from the lighter fillers. Do not apply the 150-yard default to those strengths.

Specification-based guidance, not a ReelCalc hands-on performance test. Capacity results are estimates, not measured fills.

Backing, working line & leaders

Pick a working length before a bulk spool

Compare a 150-yard working section against the selected reel capacity. Leave room for casts, runs and future trimming. If the reel holds substantially more, sound mono backing can occupy the unused volume.

Keep the diameter precise

The 15 lb row is published at 0.0085 inch. The calculator should use that exact input even if a compact chart rounds the displayed value.

Separate the bite section

A leader connects to the lure end of 832; backing belongs beneath it. Select any leader for the cover and presentation, then calculate spool capacity with the 832 mainline diameter.

832 Advanced Superline questions, answered

What does 832 mean?

Sufix specifies eight fibers and 32 weaves per inch, with seven HMPE fibers and one GORE Performance Fiber.

Is 832 Advanced Lead Core the same product?

No. The lead-core trolling line and 832 Ice Braid are separately specified products. This chart is only for Advanced Superline.

Can I buy every strength in 150 yards?

No. The verified 100 and 130 lb entries use 1,200- and 3,000-yard packages. Check the selected strength rather than treating all package sizes as universal.

How much 832 Advanced Superline will fit my reel?

Use the exact strength and the reel's published capacity. Pound test is not a fixed diameter, so equal-strength products can produce different fill estimates.

Is one 150-yard package enough?

Only when it covers the planned working length and an appropriate reserve. Backing can fill unused volume, but cannot supply more working line for long casts, deep drops or fish runs.
